Canada's role in the Second World War was significant. The sacrifices our soldiers made helped determine the outcome. I am thrilled to invite you to join me and military expert and retired Lieutenant Colonel Larry Wong on a WWII tour of Western Europe.

As you read over the itinerary, you will notice that after a few site visits in London, our tour will follow the footsteps of our Canadian soldiers from the tragedy of Dieppe to other landmarks sites that will highlight the bravery and determination our soldiers became renowned for during the war, including stops at Juno Beach and Antwerp. We will pay tribute to the fallen heroes at the Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery and attend the Liberation Day ceremonies in Wageningen on May 5, where Canadians soldiers accepted the German surrender. The final stop on the trip will include a visit to Amsterdam where we will tour Anne Frank's house and have some free time to explore the historic city.

This tour is an opportunity not only to experience this amazing part of Europe, but to also gain perspective and insight from a military expert on one of the most important events in history. I hope you will be able to join in the spring of 2013.
