The University of Saskatchewan’s affinity program was established to provide alumni with access to services they may need after graduation. We are able to negotiate preferred rates on services for our alumni (e.g. group insurance rates) and help our alumni benefit from special promotions (e.g.  Bonus AIRMILES on credit cards). We currently have agreements with carefully selected external providers (affinity partners) to offer group travel, insurance, financial services, and access to retail and restaurant deals & discounts.

The University of Saskatchewan Alumni Office is approached by numerous vendors each year. Each vendor and their program is carefully screened to ensure that the company is reputable and its services are of value to our alumni. If the proposal passes a value test (savings, security, or privileged access) it is given the University of Saskatchewan Official Alumni Partner Seal of Approval and a partnership agreement is signed.

In addition to providing discounts and group rates for alumni, affinity partners give a portion of their business back to the Office of Alumni Relations. These funds are used to help support and enhance events and programs for alumni and donors. Affinity partners also sponsor other university initiatives and have set up two scholarships for children of alumni.
From time to time we will send special offers and information regarding alumni benefits and perks to our alumni. The Office of Alumni Relations oversees the distribution of these offers which may periodically be handled through the services of a contracted mailing house. Your personal information remains confidential and is never released to any of our affinity partners. Just like we protect the privacy of our alumni by never releasing contact information directly to our affinity partners, our affinity partners also protect their clients’ privacy. They will share aggregate data with us so we do know how many alumni take part in their programs/services. They do not share client information with us.
