The University of Saskatchewan campus is full of sustainability features both obvious and hidden for the eager explorer to discover. By taking the Campus Sustainability Tour, you can familiarize yourself with all of the ways that the university is making itself more sustainable across a variety of areas.

The Canadian Light Source is the brightest light in Canada—millions of times brighter than even the sun—used by scientists to get incredibly detailed information about the structural and chemical properties of materials at the molecular level, with work ranging from mine tailing remediation to cancer research and cutting-edge materials development.

The Diefenbaker Canada Centre offers the following 30, 60 or 90-minute gallery tours:

30-Minute Gallery Tour (choose one):

1. Legacy Tour: This tour will provide a brief chronological review the life, career, and legacy of John G. Diefenbaker discussing the various ways his mark was left on Canada.
2. Temporary Exhibit Tour: Brief tour of the current temporary gallery exhibit.

60-Minute Gallery Tour (choose one):

1. Legacy Tour: This tour combs through the life, career, and legacy of John G. Diefenbaker in-depth. An analysis of Diefenbaker’s notable accomplishments as Prime Minister, contested relationship with US leadership, and an overview of the Avro Arrow cancellation will be discussed. The tour will conclude with a walk-through of two replica rooms: Prime Minister’s Office, 1957-1963; and the Privy Council Chamber, 1957-1963.
2. Temporary Exhibit Tour: Detailed tour of the current temporary gallery exhibit.

90-Minute Gallery Tour:

1. This tour encompasses the highlights of both the Legacy Tour and Temporary Exhibit. The first half of the gallery tour will review Diefenbaker’s life, career, and legacy in-depth. Highlights include Diefenbaker’s accomplishments as Prime Minister, an overview of the Avro Arrow cancellation, and a walk-through of two historically-accurate replica rooms: Prime Minister’s Office, 1957-1963; Privy Council Chamber, 1957-1963. The second half of the gallery tour will focus on the current traveling exhibit.

Located in the Rayner Dairy Research and Teaching Facility, the Feeding the World Interpretive Center educates the public about agriculture using a dairy barn as a model.

The interpretive gallery use dairy production as a way for visitors to explore the agricultural story of Saskatchewan and its role in global food production. Featuring an overhead walkway, the barn provides a bird’s-eye view of the herd, milking parlour and computer-based milk robot.

We offer in-person group tours for the Rayner Feeding the World Interpretive Centre. To submit a group tour request, please fill out one of the forms below.

Historical walking tours are available by the Diefenbaker Centre throughout the year for groups as well as individuals and families. Depending on the length chosen, this walking tour will highlight the university’s history, important achievements, and unique architecture.

Stops along the tour include the Airplane Room, Natural Sciences Museum, the Peter McKinnon Building, the Museum of Antiquities, Voyageur Place, and the Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre.

Visit the Museum of Antiquities and learn about the artistic accomplishments of major Western and Middle Eastern cultures from approximately 3000BCE to 1500CE.

The museum features a collection of Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Near Eastern sculpture in full scale replica including the Charioteer of Delphi, panels from the frieze of the Parthenon, the Venus de Milo, as well as original ancient glass, pottery and coinage.

The Museum of Antiquities on the USask campus offers a rare opportunity for anyone interested in art or antiquity.

Admission is free (donations are welcome).

Lasting approximately 90 minutes, tours are conducted by current students who can tell you what life as a student is like here. We have one of the most beautiful campuses in Canada and we’d love to show you around! 

On your tour, you will visit:

• buildings where students have classes,
• popular student hang-outs and study areas,
• athletic facilities, and
• student services that students can access before and after they begin studies here.

Tour dates and times are updated monthly. September's tour schedule will be opening soon and should generally follow the same schedule as the August dates.

The Observatory is open, free of charge, on the first and third Saturday evening of every month so that any visitor may view celestial objects through the telescope. In September the Observatory hours are 8:30 - 11:00 pm.
