CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2000!

In the year 2000, you didn’t just party like it was 1999–you also graduated from USask! It likely feels like just yesterday you were walking across the stage at convocation, degree in-hand, ready to make your mark on the world. To commemorate this special 25-year silver anniversary of graduation, USask is excited to honour you as a Silver Grad.

Register to receive your silver USask Alumni pin and throwback package by mail.

Whether you took photos at your graduation with a roll of film or uploaded pictures from a memory card (remember those things?), we want you to share your memories with us and your fellow classmates. In September, we'll share these memories on this site, along with the music, movies, pop culture, and campus moments that marked the year of your graduation.

IF YOU GRADUATED IN THE YEAR 2000 ...

You probably remember registering for classes over the phone using U-Star, hanging out at the Campus Cove arcade in Lower Place, going to movies at the Place Riel theatre, and going to the MUB to buy used textbooks at Browsers or to grab a drink at Louis' Pub.

REMEMBER WHEN...

The world was bracing for the impact of the Y2K bug, alarm clocks woke you up for class because smartphones didn't exist, you could only check your email once you dialed in to your internet provider, and no social media meant little-to-no evidence of the hijinks you got into!

USask wants to celebrate your 25th anniversary of graduation with the Silver Grads yearbook. This special webpage, launching in September, is designed for you to share the highlights and memories you experienced as a student with your fellow Class of 2000 grads, and the USask community.

Did you…

  • Have a budding romance or make a long-lasting friendship?
  • Play for the Huskies or go to games to cheer them on?
  • Have a favourite place on campus to study or unwind?
  • Learn any valuable life lessons that have stuck with you after graduating?
  • Have a favourite professor/course?
  • Participate in intramural sports or campus club?
  • Have a fond experience living in residence?
  • Experience anything otherwise fun and memorable?
  • Make preparations for the Y2K bug?
  • Follow a fashion trend that was regrettable in retrospect?

We want to hear about it! Share your memories and complementary photos when you register or by sending to alumni.reunions@usask.ca by August 1, 2025.

REMEMBER WHEN...

Crop tops, cargo pants, low-rise jeans, butterfly clips and frosted tips were in, the Nokia cell phone was the new big thing and you could still go to Blockbuster to pick out your Friday night flick?

REMEMBER WHEN...

Burned CDs, Big Shiny Tunes, MP3 players and Napster were huge, PlayStation 2 launched with record numbers, and you printed directions from MapQuest (if you didn't already have a foldable road map in your car).
