I really like the Education Building! I've gone back a couple times to reminisce. Shoutout to professor Keith Russel who taught me how to walk in my hands during the gymnastics in education course. I went in to coach gymnastics after about eight years and I can still walk in my hands! Comes in "handy" to inspire students!

Stephen Horyn (BEd'01)

Going to Louis' on a Friday after class for drinks, then staying to dance the night away. We had so much fun! Haha, the word "U-Star" sends shivers down my spine. Many tears and expletives were present when trying to call U-Star to register, and then practically having to change your major depending on the availability of the classes.

Kristin Johnson (BA'01, MBA'14)

Shout-out to Professor Kevin Corrigan. I took first-year philosophy as an elective, and it was my first real introduction to epistemology and the nature of learning. He asked us: what are we doing here? Are we just going to school to get a degree and then what? Learning is a lifelong endeavour. We're not simply earning a degree to land a job, we're learning how to learn. Professor Corrigan reframed education as something deeper than credential-chasing and this had a huge impact on the rest of my life.

Richard Stefanowski (BA'01)

In 1996 I had been living in Inuvik, Northwest Territories since 1993 and working at Aurora Campus, Arctic College. I began my MEd studies in the Indigenous Northern Education Program (INEP) on Campus in September 1996. I resided off-campus at the Ukranian Residence for all of the academic year 1996-97. I successfully completed my on-campus coursework requirements that same year. However, I finished my final project off campus in 2001 and was very happy to finally receive my master's degree.

Irene Sharkey (MEd'01)

I was one of the founding members for the Horticulture Club on campus. I took the idea to Karen Tanino and I spent a LOT of time growing plants and teaching others how to grow them and sell them at plant sales on campus. Signing up for classes scared the living you know what out of me—it gave me so much anxiety that I wouldn't be able to do what I needed to do because the class I needed was full.

Kathleen Cameron (BSA'95, PGD'97, MSc'01)

Muhammad Shazam Hussain (MD'01)
