Season's Greetings From Your Alumni Association President

It also seems appropriate that as members of the University of Saskatchewan Alumni Association we should reflect briefly on the past six months during which time your Alumni Association has worked hard to add value to your alumni experience, build strong communities of alumni throughout the world, and celebrate the successes of U of S graduates everywhere.

We continue to work with the University Advancement office to clarify our role vis-à-vis the University, a process which will assist us considerably in identifying the ways in which we can serve you better. Also, U of S graduates continue to meet at alumni events across Canada and throughout the world – networking, renewing old friendships, and making new ones. In fact, one of our biggest alumni bashes happened right here at home, when nearly 200 alumni and friends gathered on campus in Marquis Hall for a pre-Vanier Cup brunch.

And in October, of course, we celebrated alumni successes at the annual Celebrating Our Successes Alumni Awards Presentation & Gala Dinner. This event recognizes the extraordinary accomplishments of our alumni with eight awards: Achievement, Service, Honour, Humanitarian, Mentorship, Outstanding Young Alumni and the Alumni Excellence in Aboriginal Initiatives Awards.

Your Alumni Association has long held the view that celebrating the accomplishments of our alumni is simply one of the best ways of attesting to the excellence of a University of Saskatchewan education.

This is, of course, just a sampling of the ways in which your Alumni Association has been working to make your alumni experience a fulfilling one. As always, I encourage you to take full advantage of all the services and benefits available to you as a graduate, and even consider becoming more involved as a volunteer.

But for now, I simply want to wish each of you a happy, safe holiday and all the best in the New Year.
