Over 2,700 of these students were welcomed into the U of S Alumni Association (the remainder are already U of S alumni, having obtained one or more U of S degrees).

Marianne Schneider (BSN'94, MBA'96), incoming president of the U of S Alumni Association, says, "Twice a year we proudly welcome new graduates into our alumni family. We are pleased to extend our congratulations to the class of 2009 and to welcome you as new members of the U of S Alumni Association."

The University of Saskatchewan Alumni Association was formed in 1917 and acts as an important link between the university and its alumni. Alumni can stay connected to their alma mater and classmates through a worldwide network of over 50 branches, events and activities such as homecoming and reunions, and a wide range of benefits and services available exclusively to U of S alumni.

"During their time on campus, students develop relationships and build up their knowledge, skills and expertise in their chosen field. The Alumni Association is here to help transition people from student to working professional and maintain those bonds to the U of S," states Schneider.
