Celebrate 80 Years with the College of Education

The College of Education is Celebrating its 80 Anniversary in 2007.

To celebrate, the College has planned several events that include lectures, reunions, and events to be held during Homecoming 2007 in September.
Saskatchewan Anniversary Celebrations:

  • Prince Albert – Friday, April 20th 7 – 9 p.m. – Vincent Massey Community School Gym, 2999 3rd Avenue East
  • Saskatoon – Sunday, April 22nd 2 – 4 p.m. – Student Lounge, College of Education, University of Saskatchewan
  • North Battleford – Friday, May 4th 7 – 9 p.m. – Chapel Gallery, 891 99th Street
  • Swift Current – Saturday, May 5th 4 – 6 p.m. – Swift Current Art Gallery, 411 Herbert Street East
  • Regina – Friday, May 11th 4 – 6 p.m. - West Harvest Inn, 4025 Albert Street
  • Yorkton – Saturday, May 12th 2 – 4 p.m. – Sacred Heart High School, 280 Gladstone Avenue North

Alberta Anniversary Celebrations:

  • Edmonton – Thursday, September 27th – 4 – 6 p.m. – Location TBA
  • Calgary – Friday, September 28tth – Location and time TBA

British Columbia Celebrations:

  • Victoria – Saturday, September 22 – 2 – 4 p.m. – Location TBA
  • Vancouver – TBA
  • Okanagan – TBA

Other events celebrating the College's anniversary include:

  • Reflections on Transitions in Teacher Education at the University of Saskatchewan 1964-1972. Presentation by Dr. Doris Dyke, May 3rd at 3 p.m., Faculty Lounge, College of Education, University of Saskatchewan. Reception to follow. Everyone is welcome.
  • 80th Anniversary Come and Go Tea, Education Students Lounge, College of Education, University of Saskatchewan, May 27th from 11:30 – 3:00 p.m. All CSSE delegates are welcome to attend, with a special welcome to all U of S alumni.
  • Teaching in the Wireless Age by David Booth, Professor Emeritus, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, November 22nd at 7:30 p.m., Quance Theatre, College of Education, University of Saskatchewan.
