Record win at Homecoming 2011
The 2011 Alumni and Friends Homecoming football game could not have been much better if we wrote the script ourselves.
By Derrick KunzA crowd of 6,461 Huskie fans witnessed Head Coach Brian Towriss (BComm'87) get his 170th career win—a Canadian Interuniversity Sports record—on a fantastic fall evening under the Friday night lights at Griffiths Stadium at PotashCorp Park.
The University of Saskatchewan Huskies defeated the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds 36 – 33 in a come-from-behind victory. The win gives the Huskies a 3 and 2 season record and keeps them in the hunt for a playoff spot.
Jason Aebig (BA'99), president of the University of Saskatchewan Alumni Association, which sponsors the annual Homecoming game, said, "It's truly amazing to be part of such a vibrant university and community. Nights like this are great reminders of the wonderful community of alumni and friends we have at the U of S."
