U of S alumni going to the Grey Cup

University of Saskatchewan alumni Scott McHenry (BA’11) and Graig Newman (BE’13), and former U of S Huskies Ben Heenan, Paul Woldu, Levi Steinhauer, and Graeme Bell are Saskatchewan Roughrider teammates who hope to hoist the cup as their team takes on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday.

Scott McHenry is a receiver and special teams player who played five years with the Huskies before being drafted by the Calgary Stampeders in 2009. He played briefly with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and was signed by the Riders in 2011.

Graig Newman is a defensive back and special teams player who played five seasons with the Saskatoon Hilltops and was signed by the Riders in December 2011. Last off-season, he completed his bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering, graduating this past spring.

Ben Heenan is an offensive lineman who was drafted first overall by the Riders in the 2012 CFL Canadian Draft after playing four years with the U of S Huskies.

Paul Woldu is a corner back and special teams player who played two years with the Huskies. He was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in 2008, where he played before joining the Riders in 2012.

Graeme Bell is a full back who played with the Huskies while studying kinesiology at the U of S. He signed as a free agent with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2005 and with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2009 before being traded to the Riders in 2011.

Levi Steinhauer is a rookie defensive lineman and special teams player who was drafted by the Riders in 2013 after playing three seasons with the U of S Huskies.

Pre-game entertainment will also prominently feature U of S alumni, with Kurt Dahl (BComm’04, LLB’05, LLM’09) of One Bad Son opening for Ewan Currie’s (BA’11) The Sheepdogs.
