Alana Pancyr (BFA’13) will be speaking on behalf of the Alumni Association and welcoming our newest members of the USask family onto campus.

Pancyr’s acting career started to bloom during her time on campus when she appeared in several Greystone Theatre productions such as AmadeusThe Love of the Nightingale and All Through the Night. After graduating, she moved to Toronto to further pursue her passion. She has since starred in the 48-hour film competition and was awarded as part of a great cast ‘Best Acting Ensemble’ for All for Davey.

Along with her many accomplishments, Pancyr was also the artist in residence at Sterling Studio Theatre and performed in their production of Ravenscroft. She is most well-known for her roles in popular television shows such as Murdoch Mysteries and most recently, the award-winning series the Handmaid’s Tale based on the novel by iconic Canadian author Margaret Atwood

Ashlyn George (BA’09, BEd’10) will lend her talents as co-emcee for the day.

George has spent the last seven years following her curiosity exploring more than 55 countries across seven continents. In 2015, Geroge was the official travel blogger for the province of Saskatchewan where she shared her adventures of being the Saskatchewanderer.

In 2017, Geroge was nominated in the Under 29 category for the YMCA Women of Distinction Awards. She received the Saskatchewan Tourism Travel Media Award for her collection of eight pieces on Saskatchewan. Her website was voted Best Saskatchewan Blog by SaskNOW.ca and was named a CBC Saskatchewan Future 40 recipient for her work in the province.
