USask celebrates Top 40 under 40 winners

Eight USask alumni were among the winners announced at this year’s CBC Saskatchewan’s Top 40 under 40 awards.

Congratulations to these outstanding young individuals who keep making us proud!

Eric Anderson (BEd’06) – Whether through his work as communications leader at Sherbrooke Community Centre in Saskatoon, or through his podcast YXE Underground, Eric takes great pride in telling the stories of remarkable people doing incredible things.

Kayla Brien (BA’12, BA’13) - An advocate for marginalized people when it comes to job opportunity and education and a valued volunteer in varied capacities.

Yang Chen (MBA’12, BSA’07) - As a young, dedicated and enthusiastic leader, Yang Chen has been making an impact in the local community for more than 14 years with his volunteer work in Saskatoon’s Chinese community.

Ricky Forbes (BCOMM’10) - Entrepreneur, community leader, volunteer, and professional storm chaser are a few hats Ricky Forbes wears. A Saskatchewan native, Ricky is the driver for one of North America's top professional storm chasing teams and star of the TV show Tornado Hunters on Netflix.

Christine Marie (SUNTEP’10) – Creator of Awasis Boutique, a Métis/Filipino Mama of two, who enjoyed sewing cute, comfy and practical items for her boys.

Michelle Keene (MPT’14, BScKin’11) – A dedicated sports physiotherapist, athlete, and community volunteer.

Cole Thorpe (BComm’14) – owner of local apparel store Prairie Proud and a dedicated contributor to local charities and initiatives.

Stephanie Yong (MBA’10,BA’01) - A well-known and much-beloved Saskatonian, Stephanie Yong is a design-thinking specialist, community leader and champion of local startups.
