Leah Luciuk (BASc’15, CSUSTA’15) says her love of nature truly began to grow during her high school years.
By Alexa Lawlor, Saskatoon StarPhoenixLeah Luciuk, who was recently featured in the Saskatoon StarPhoenix, says her love of nature truly began to grow during her high school years.
She grew up on an acreage just outside Wynyard, Sask., and fondly remembers spending time outdoors, riding bikes down the grid roads with her friends and her brother.
In high school, a guidance counsellor suggested she take environmental studies in university; from there, Luciuk started her path toward a career and multiple volunteer opportunities in sustainability and the environment.
Currently, Luciuk is a park program coordinator for the Government of Saskatchewan. She is based out of Saskatoon, but between May and the September long weekend, she gets to work in the Great Blue Heron, Candle Lake, Narrow Hills, Pike Lake and Blackstrap provincial parks.
